This policy explains, in plain language, what information Skipper360 collects, how it is used — including AI-assisted document processing — and the choices you have. Skipper360 is operated by Annapolis Apps LLC.
1. Who operates Skipper360
Skipper360 is operated by Annapolis Apps LLC (“we,” “us”). “Skipper360” is a product name and DBA of Annapolis Apps LLC. This policy describes what information the Skipper360 app and its backend services collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. For privacy questions, contact info@annapolisapps.com.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication information
When you create an account we collect your email address. Sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email — we do not store passwords. Session tokens are stored in your device’s secure storage. If you enable biometric unlock (such as Face ID), the biometric check happens entirely on your device through the operating system; biometric data is never sent to us.
Watercraft and equipment information
Information you enter about your watercraft and equipment, such as names, makes, models, years, identification details, and category-specific attributes.
Maintenance, service, and hours information
Maintenance tasks and schedules, service visit records (including providers, dates, work performed, and costs), engine hours logs, and reminder settings.
Documents, manuals, and photos
Files you upload, including owner’s manuals, service invoices, registrations, receipts, and photos, along with metadata such as file names, sizes, and content checksums used for de-duplication.
Subscription information
Your subscription plan, trial status, and purchase state. Payments are processed by your app store; we never receive your full payment card details.
Device and technical information
Standard technical data needed to operate the service, such as API request logs (including IP addresses), app version, and diagnostic records for troubleshooting. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. How we use information
- To provide the service: storing and displaying your records across your devices;
- To calculate maintenance due dates from your hours logs and schedules;
- To deliver maintenance reminders you have enabled;
- To process uploaded documents with AI, as described below;
- To send account emails such as sign-in codes and trial status notices;
- To recognize your subscription plan and apply plan features;
- To secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
- To respond when you contact us.
4. AI processing and automated extraction
When you upload a manual, invoice, or similar document (or use an AI-assisted feature), the document’s content is sent to AI providers — OpenAI and, where enabled, Google Gemini — to classify the document and extract structured maintenance or service information. The extracted results are returned to your account for you to review and edit; extraction runs only as part of providing the feature to you.
We do not use your documents to train our own AI models. The providers process the content as service providers under their API terms; their own data handling is governed by their policies.
Skipper360 maintains a library of official manufacturer manuals. When a document is identified as an official manufacturer manual, its file may be stored once and referenced for other users with the same equipment, so everyone benefits from a single accurate copy. Stored files are de-duplicated using content checksums.
Only official manufacturer documentation is shared this way. Your personal documents — invoices, receipts, registrations, photos, and your maintenance and service records — are private to your account and are not made available to other users.
6. Third-party service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the service:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting: our API, database, file storage, and logs run on AWS in the United States (us-east-1). Uploaded files are stored in private storage accessed through time-limited links.
- Resend — sends account emails such as one-time sign-in codes and trial notices to your email address.
- OpenAI and, where enabled, Google (Gemini) — process uploaded document content for classification and extraction as described above.
- RevenueCat — processes subscription purchase records from the app store so the app can recognize your plan. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription status information, not your payment card details.
- Apple App Store (and the equivalent store on other platforms) — handles payment processing for subscriptions under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7. Notifications and communications
Maintenance reminders are delivered as notifications on your device and require your permission, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings. We send transactional emails (sign-in codes, trial status notices) to operate your account; we do not send marketing email lists from the app today.
8. Data retention
Your records and uploaded files are retained while your account is active so the service can function. Operational logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
If you downgrade to a plan with lower limits, records that exceed the new plan’s limits are deleted after you are shown a preview of exactly what will be removed, including associated attachments. Files that are no longer referenced by any record are removed from storage; a shared official manual remains in the library while other records still reference it.
9. Data and account deletion
You can delete individual watercraft, equipment, maintenance, service, and document records in the app at any time; deleting a record also removes its attachments, except that a shared official manual file remains available to other users who reference it. To delete your account and its data, contact us at info@annapolisapps.com from your account email; we will complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying the request.
10. Security
We protect your information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers, session tokens kept in your device’s secure storage, private cloud storage accessed through time-limited links, secrets management for server credentials, and audit logging of our cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.
11. Children’s privacy
Skipper360 is not directed at children and is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact info@annapolisapps.com and we will delete it.
12. International users
Our services are hosted in the United States. If you use Skipper360 from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Your privacy rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your records directly in the app;
- Delete individual records and uploaded files in the app;
- Disable notifications in your device settings;
- Request a copy of your data, or request account deletion, at info@annapolisapps.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (such as rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information). We honor valid requests sent to info@annapolisapps.com regardless of where you live.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
